Growth factors are natural substances created from the skin that signal to cells to heal and grow. In skin, growth factors play a significant role in supporting the repair of damaged skin. They help produce new collagen to improve firmness and elasticity in the skin. Regular use of medical-grade skin care products containing growth factors reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and improves skin tone and texture.

As we age, our body slows down the production of growth factors, hindering our skin’s ability to regenerate. However, with advancements in science, growth factors can be engineered in laboratory environments or extracted through your own blood, also known as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). Some growth factors are proteins derived from human stem cells, and others are derived from natural sources such as plants, animals, and bacteria.

Several clinical studies have shown the benefits of topically applied growth factor products for more than ten years. These studies indicate improvements in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, texture, and discoloration. Depending on skin quality, visible results take approximately 6-12 weeks of twice a day use.

The majority of studies show a reduction in crow’s feet lines, under-eye skin texture, and overall radiance. More impressive results can be achieved when growth factors are used in conjunction with strong antioxidants. Growth factors work great with vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid, hydroquinone, and many others.
