If your BMI is higher than 30; or greater than 27, in the presence of 1 or more weight related comorbid conditions, you are a candidate. You will need to commit to the proposed treatment plan including healthy food options and consistent exercise.

During the confidential Wellness consult, one of our nurses will review your weight concerns and goals. We will weigh you and measure your height to calculate your BMI. Comprehensive blood work is required to begin, which we can do in the office or you may bring a lab slip to Quest Labs if you choose to work through your insurance. We will also discuss the risks and benefits of medically managed weight loss as well as possible side effects. We will also review and recommend vitamin and nutrition choices.

Once lab work is reviewed and you are confirmed a candidate for Semaglutide, the medication is injected once a week along with a vitamin B injection. Treatments are purchased in 4 week doses. Dosing will increase monthly as your treatment plan progresses.

It suppresses your appetite; therefore you eat less and your digestion slows down. You can start to lose weight quickly, potentially up to 5 pounds a week, depending on how much you need to lose.

Not everyone will experience side effects, however, there may be gastrointestinal implications including but not limited to nausea, dyspepsia, abdominial bloating, diarrhea, constipation, low blood sugar, etc. To reduce your risks of side effects, we encourage an active lifestyle and proper nutritional intake during and after treatment.
