Tighten and firm skin

Experience amazing results

Microneedling and PRP are all the buzz lately! Microneedling is a method of stimulating collagen growth in the skin, which can be used to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and scarring. The theory behind microneedling is to wound the skin, and in turn, coaxes new, healthy skin cells (fibroblasts) to create new collagen. The result is overall skin tightening, thereby improving skin texture. Combining microneedling with PRP (Plasma Rich Platelet) is the ultimate rejuvenation treatment. Dermastamping is also available for a quick quick, effective result!

Skin Rejuvenation

The benefits of microneedling are:

  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lifts, tightens and rejuvenates the skin
  • Improves the appearance of stretch marks
  • Minimizes acne scarring
  • Reduces the appearance of traumatic scars
  • Lightens pigmentation

How does microneedling work?

The Rejuvapen system utilizes 9 precisely spaced microneedles which create tiny vertical perforations into the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. By creating a slight injury to the skin in a gentle way, the skin repairs itself by stimulating collagen and elastin. The end result is tighter and healthier-looking skin. In addition, serums can be applied before and after microneedling to encourage deeper penetration of high-quality ingredients.

What is involved in the procedure?

The patient is cleansed and wiped with alcohol beforehand, and a topical numbing cream is applied to the areas that will be treated. A new, disposable sanitized needle tip is used for every treatment, and the settings are adjusted on the pen according to the skin type, condition and area being treated. The level of intensity will vary throughout the treatment based on the sensitivity of specific areas (for instance, around the eyes, the setting is reduced). Each treatment takes about 40 minutes.

What is the post-op care?

Most patients look as though they have a moderate sunburn, and skin will feel warm. These symptoms begin to resolve within a couple of hours and will be recovered in 24 hours. A mild cleanser and moisturizer are recommended post-op. We also recommend using the breathable foundation, Oxygenetix, to assist in the healing of the skin while protecting it. Treatments are recommended every month for 3 to 5 times for maximum results.

What about PRP (plasma rich protein) and microneedling?

Using your own healthy plasma to apply directly to the skin post micro-needling is the ultimate treatment! A certified medical assistant or nurse will draw your blood and extract the healthiest part of the blood called plasma using a centrifuge. The healthy plasma is applied to the treated area post microneedling, so it absorbed down deep into the open channels from the microneedled skin. Another option is to inject the healthy plasma into areas of the face and/or scalp (for hair restoration). Plasma can also be injected into the vagina and penis to enhance overall sexual wellness. Since PRP is a natural substance from your own body, there is no risk of allergies or hypersensitivity.

What about PRP and dermal fillers?

Instead of waiting for the PRR results to take effect, the plasma can be combined with a hyaluronic acid dermal filler for maximum and more immediate results. Then the results from the PRP will begin to appear as the filler dissolves naturally.

What is dermastamping?

Dermastamping is another method of superficial microneedling which uses a handheld “stamper” that has several gold plated needles. It makes tiny, superficial deposits of a customized cocktail of ingredients to firm and tighten skin on the face and body. Our favorite blend to use is a combination of glutathione (a powerful antioxidant) , Dysport wrinkle relaxer and a hyaluronic acid dermal filler (Restylane) or a bio stimulator (Sculptra). This can be added on to various in office treatments and can be done every 2 to 3 months.

What are the contraindications?

  • Active acne
  • Raised keloid scars
  • Actinic keratosis
  • Eczema
  • Skin Cancer
